6 AI Prompts for Social Media

Writing social media posts (or emails…or blog posts…) can be a real drag. That’s where AI programs can really shine — but what to ask for, to get just the right result?

Try these six prompts, and see what happens.

1. AI as Marketing Manager — Act as a Marketing Manager and create an engaging social media post about [topic] that follows the problem, agitate, and solution copywriting framework.

2. AI as Social Media Coach — Imagine you are an expert social media coach. Write an Instagram caption for a post about [topic]. Keep it under [X] number of [words/characters], and include a call-to-action to click the link in bio.

3. AI as Pollster — Design a thought-provoking poll question asking [your niche/audience] how they feel about a current trend or hot topic related to [your niche/industry].

4. AI as Growth Expert — Acting as a growth expert, create an engaging social media post to increase brand awareness about [your business]. Include a call-to-action to encourage engagement with the brand.

5. AI as Social Media Manager (1) — Imagine you’re a social media manager and create a compelling hook that teases an industry secret related to [your niche/industry], encouraging curiosity.

6. AI as Social Media Manager (2) — Pretend you’re a social media manager in [your niche/industry] brainstorming an educational post on Instagram about [topic]. Create a bulleted list of 3 post ideas with a call-to-action for each to encourage comments.

The Final Word

You can tweak the prompts to get different results for longer content for blog posts, or to use as emails instead of social media, but these can serve as a good starting point so you’re not just staring at a blank screen every time.
